What makes me chuckle about these people who claim to be speaking on behalf of God is that not only did their God create Gay people but it appears that there are more Gay Preists, Revrons etc than there are straight! While i do have some spritual beliefs i've never really felt comfortable with Christianity because there are too many contridictions with the religion. I personally believe that God, no matter which religion you subscribe to, created Homosexuality to combat the every increasing over population. Additionally it has been proved time and time again that Homosexuality is not a Human trait but more of a Mamal trait because it also exists within the animal kingdom. Times have changed considerably over the last 100 years. I still cannot believe that at one point is was common practice to treat people with black/brown skin as not only lesser people but they were also slaves to white people. I thank God that i was not around during that time. Hate crime, whether it be gender, sexuality or skin colour orientated is still a massive problem despite the advances in society and people like Fred Phelps and daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper have a lot to answer to. I wonder how long it will be until one of their family members 'come out', one of their children perhaps?...How will they deal with that? Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has made a massive step forward in making the decision she made and I for one congratulate her.
